Which is why it being imperative to see the little ways in which the sun reflects its happiness and changes the way it lights up your sky. Focus on one thing for as long as it marvels you, and when that becomes the “norm”, sit and watch closely again, close enough to find that little something else that simply amazes you as you’re allowed to be in its presence.
I, we, hear it all the time, "When I get promoted I'll be happy," "When I'm making more money things will be perfect," I just need a boyfriend and life will be sweet," "If I just lose 10kgs I'll be happy." But will you? Will you really? We live in this world kind of half here and half in the future, and that's probably putting it nicely, as for a lot of people life exists just over there, a week from now, a month, a year, not half the time but all the time.
Finding meaning, satisfaction and that thing, or things, that make our souls sing are crucially important for our health and happiness, but it can prove as difficult to find as the loch ness monster. We all crave a life that is engaged and vibrant, that is full of passion and fulfilment but how do we find it amongst all the noise?
Being present, and being able to relax free from distractions, is an amazing gift not only for ourselves but for others too. Being present in each moment allows us to be a better partner, friend, brother, sister, parent, teacher, coach, teammate and child. By exploring life it allows us to connect with ourselves and in turn foster a strong and robust relationship with ourselves.
